The Skillet Restaurant, is an iconic diner/restaurant landmark located in downtown Spartanburg. Since 1946 it has been the go to breakfast and lunch destination for almost everyone. From Wofford and Converse College Students, downtown businesses and doctors and nurses from Spartanburg Regional and Mary Black Hospitals.
Along with good food, it serves breakfast and lunch to diners as if they are part of the family. Maintaining a “Enter as a stranger, leave as a friend” mindset.
Our approach to develop the web presence for The Skillet Restaurant fit our DNA. Our custom designed websites focus on showing and sharing the character and culture of each individual business. We work hard to begin to develop the very important First Impression, which we touch on in a previous post “Are you selling or serving?”
Ownership wanted to recapture the nostalgic look and feel of the 50’s while showcasing the personal service and the quality of the food they serve.
Through design we captured and enhanced the logo that has been with the Skillet Restaurant from the start and then enjoyed an onsite photo shoot to see the staff in action serving up laughs and food. Truly an experience of service that is rarely seen in this day.
Another important part of the development was to ensure that the website would be Mobile Friendly. Many diners and restaurants today are missing the boat by not having responsive designed websites. Part of making the website responsive was to also include the skillet menu to be available on the website and visible on their device without having to download a PDF (very old school) menu for breakfast, lunch and the extras.
We are excited to have developed a Swift Business Solution for this iconic fixture of Spartanburg. If you and your business are looking for a reliable company for your web development, hosting and ongoing management, video production, social media communication, let’s connect. We will even buy lunch.
Please enjoy the online transition and be sure to mention to the staff that you saw their new website.
